Beginner To Navigation

Build your confidence from the ground up with my empowering workshop. Join a small, supportive group as I guide you through the fundamentals of navigation and map reading.

Using a tech device like your phone for navigation has some benefits, but it also has its limitations. Having an understanding of a paper map and relating the map to the ground is not only empowering when you are out and about, but also when you would like to plan your route. If your tech device fails, you will have the knowledge to be able to get yourself back to your safe place.

You don't need experience to take part but if you do have some, this workshop is great for you too.

Aim

You'll leave the session feeling confident to plan local routes using paths, tracks and trails across the UK with basic knowledge of the compass.

Fitness Level & Terrain:

Set in low land terrain, there are no 'big' hills or mountains, however you must be happy with off road walking or biking as terrain will be mixed. There could be some small hills but we are not walking or riding at a fast pace and will be stopping a lot for learning practice.

If biking: you do not have to be an experienced biker, as we will be using mainly fire roads, but you do need to be able to ride a bike off road and be able to provide your own bike.

Full instructions, kit list and what to expect will be emailed out to you upon booking.

Fitness level 1 - max distance approx. 6 miles.

£75
