Fueling YOUR Confidence Outdoors

Boosting Strength, Independence, and SMILES One Adventure at a TIME

Do you dream of exploring the outdoors BUT you just don’t know where to start?

Or

Maybe you already enjoy the benefits of being outside BUT want to learn more about navigation and CRAVE more adventure…

You may have spent years looking after everyone else... You may have felt too self-conscious to embark on something new...

Or become too busy with the day-to-day grind of life, that spending time outdoors, getting fresh air and growing (in too many ways to mention) has become a distant memory.

If you’re looking to build your confidence and be empowered to take on adventure, then I’m here to HELP YOU. Because, I’ve worked with others just like you who want more out of life, more adventures, but are afraid of going it alone and unsure they have the skills to stay safe. Perhaps you don't know where to begin and want to feel relaxed about joining in with groups.

Well, I’m on a  mission to empower you to find adventure in the great outdoors by building YOUR confidence, strength, and independence.

HOW? By offering coaching and leading sessions that explore the outdoors in small, supportive and relaxed groups, designed to give you the maximum learning experience within a variety of activities.

Oh where are my manners!

 I should introduce myself….

I’m Becky,  I’m a lover of animals and exploring new places, so when it comes to adventures I generally have my furry buddy Casper along with me.  I’m an experienced and friendly instructor who loves all things outdoors but how did I get here?

In 2011, I was living in Cheddar and found myself craving a career where I could make a difference, helping others but I had no idea what that was.  I enjoyed rock climbing and met a few people who were teaching climbing as a career. I didn’t know at the time just how big this industry was.  How fantastic to be able to work in the outdoors doing the things you love. Not only that, you were igniting a new passion or skill in those you teach.

So I did what most people would tell you not to do! I quit my job, packed up my things, and moved back to the Midlands to pursue a career in the Outdoor Industry.  I enrolled in an Intensive Training Program which then led me to work as a Freelance Instructor.

This was the next chapter of my life at the ripe old (young) age of 37 years old. It was one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make but one I have never regretted.

I have always had a little self-doubt creep in, regardless of all the things that I have achieved and done. But, by learning new skills and constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone (subconsciously at first), I can turn those negative feelings into something positive and achieve so much more than I thought.

My first solo wild camp marked a  turning point for me in boosting my confidence and self-belief and I haven’t looked back.

What about the future?

I am always growing - in my thinking, learning and life in general and it has become extremely apparent to me that the outdoor activities I do and teach are such an important tool to develop SELF CONFIDENCE, INDEPENDENCE, SELF WORTH, SOCIAL SKILLS, GOOD MENTAL HEALTH, PHYSICAL HEALTH and more. These outcomes are at the heart of Be Yourself Outdoors and everything I aim to HELP YOU achieve as a support, guide and friend.

Thank you for visiting my website, and honestly, I would love to hear from you - whether that's questions about a course, or just to say hi! You can drop me a line here. And certainly, if there is anything on this website that isn't quite right please feel free to let me know (especially as I built the site myself!)

Have fun, stay safe and Be You!
